Unico Studio, a San Francisco-based game company with offices in Turkey, develops successful mobile games with a team of 80 people, generating over $1 million in monthly revenue. When Unico Studio decided to enter the subscription-based, non-gaming app market, we partnered with them for guidance, due to our industry knowledge and experience.

AI Note Taker and AI Headshot Generator: From concept to product

We initially provided consultancy by sharing detailed insights into how subscription-based, non-gaming apps are created and what makes them successful. This included the business model, user experience strategy, and monetization methods.
As the process continued, we worked with Unico Studio to explore which types of apps would be both relevant to current trends and potentially profitable. After evaluating various options, AI Note Taker and AI Headshot Generator were selected for development.
During the development phase, we not only designed and built the apps but also regularly supported and trained Unico Studio’s design and development teams. Several design languages were prepared and presented to their team. After a preferred style was chosen, UI designs were created and delivered as Figma files. The apps were developed based on the agreed-upon features, and the full design and development process was completed in 1.5 months.

Solving review challenges

One of the applications, AI Headshot Generator, included a feature called "AI Hugging Videos" which allowed users to generate images of two people hugging. Due to Apple’s content policies, this feature led to a rejection during the review process.
We guided Unico Studio through this issue by offering specific recommendations and support during the appeal process. The issue was resolved, and the app was successfully published.

Post-launch support and knowledge transfer

After the apps were released, we continued to support Unico Studio by holding sessions on topics such as A/B testing, paywall testing, and strategies for growth.
All communication and workflow management were carried out actively through Slack throughout the entire collaboration.

Looking ahead
The partnership with Unico Studio reflects the value of structured collaboration and industry knowledge in bringing new ideas to market. The two published apps continue to grow, and we remain involved in supporting their development and performance.
